I am a New York-based artist who graduated from New York University and began my career in the East Village Movement in New York in the ’80s and ’90s. Since that time, I have exhibited my work internationally and received recognition from many art writers and art institutions. I am an abstract painter that explores color and uses a “pour” technique that allows me to “draw” with the paint. Line and color are what interests me. I also create wire sculptures. These sculptures are three-dimensional drawings in space that interconnect and flow through the air with a lyrical line. Currently, I am incorporating fabric installations suspended from the ceilings that are juxtaposed to my paintings. My studio practice explores the idea of a visual symphony. It is primarily music that inspires and influences my work, capturing parts of music and sound translated into abstract visual forms.
